Overview of this Lecture / week
As our database environments grow, you will end up finding yourself having to work in a distributed environment. This will involve lots of database and servers, connected together and sharing data. In this lecture we will look at the main distributed database concepts and some of the data and database design considerations. This leads into data and database sharding and data integration.

There are no specific lab exercises this week. You can work on the following.
(a) You know the topic for your Assignment A. You can use this time to continue your research on your Database Technology.
We can have a Q&A session for everyone to join in, and this can be followed by 1-1 chats on specifics for your topic.
(b) If you haven’t complete the labs from the previous week, this would be a good time to catchup and complete them. Some of those topics might feed into your Assignment.
